Kindy Drama starts at the British International School (BIS) in Accra

Ghana
26 January

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy for children and Adults is sweeping Ghana by storm under the direction of Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) performer, Kwaku Boateng Ankomah.

Helen O’Grady Drama Academy Accra continues its first ever Kindy Drama classes at the British International School (BIS) , Kiddies in East Legon Accra!

We were back at BIS last Friday to give our last free trial lesson at BIS before they start their classes with us. It’s great to see so many children have already enrolled into our classes after trying out our free trial. As if that wasn’t enough, some of the same children from BIS love drama so much that they have enrolled into our drama classes on Saturdays  at The Nubuke Foundation in East Legon.

We live in an exam culture and children in Ghana are constantly reminded of these looming upon them. It is important that young children learn to play and learn, without feeling that they have to constantly pass an exam and should develop the innate talents that exist in most children. Good drama teaching allows children to thrive in a variety of situations in a fun-filled environment. Drama can also be a therapy to some children by giving children with reading or other learning disabilities the opportunity to feel they have accomplished something worthwhile.

It is a great reward to enrol children onto both the studio and in-school, afterschool programmes we have. We hope you will consider enrolling your children.

If you are a school and would like to have this fantastic programme for your children, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at.

Although like many other children, she has a busy after school schedule of activities, drama classes are one thing she never likes to miss, she looks forward to every single class, l..."
