Showcasing the incredible international curriculum in Cape Town

South Africa
21 April

Soon children in Cape Town will be performing in their annual Presentation Days at schools and the Academy's private studios. This is one of the many opportunities the Academy offers for parents and friends to see how the programme develops excellent communication skills and performance abilities in children.

The Presentation Days start with workshopping the curriculum, beginning with incredible introductory activities which have been cleverly designed to develop spontaneity in language right from the start. Students then work through the curriculum showing how the study of speech really accelerates  their ability in spoken communication through training in projection, articulation, resonance and expression.

Likewise the Academy is well known for its development on of non-verbal communication through mime and the Laban technique. The Academy's students are very adept at using the body and the voice as a powerful communication tool.

To be a good communicator you have to be able to use your body and voice effectively in combination. The Academy's method of breathing the separate skills down and then bringing them together in imporovisation, really does built the necessary confidence for public speaking and inspired acting on stage. Children and adults in the Academy develop a natural ability.

At the end of the year, the students perform in a production in a theatre to further enhance these skills. The Academy has been running now for nearly 40 years internationally. Hundreds of thousands of people worldwide are testiment to the change it has made in their lives.

One of the greatest gifts we can give is the gift of confidence.
