Cape Town drama school welcomes renowned mime artist Markus Schmid to classes

Markus Schmid studied under Marcel Marceau at the International School Mimodrame of Paris.
Since 1998, his company, the Co. Andrayas a guideline for the meeting between music, movement and visual arts. His constant challenge is to invent a language where objects leave their status as "foreign body" to become extensions of the actor.

Markus, his wife, Marie Gomez and their two boys have been travelling the world performing for children an adults. They have just completed an extensive tour of South America and now they are visiting Africa.
Today they performed at Sunlands Primary School in Cape Town, one of many schools where the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs its international programme.
Mime in an very important part of the Academy's programme to teach children and adults non-verbal communication skills. All students follow an extensive mime and movement programme.
