Students showcase work at Parents Days in Cairo
The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's Parents and Friends days give the students a chance to showcase the work covered in the classes and it gives parents a chance to see the progress of the children in the Academy.
These performances show how carefully and educational the Helen O'Grady Programme is from the Introductory Activities which are cleverly designed to develop spontaneity in speech and improvisation technique, to the Speech which is one of the essential skills of communication taught, to the non-verbal communication techniques taught through mime and movement. Parents see the huge development in creativity when they watch the improvisations and script work, where children beam with confidence on the stage.
That is why our teaching method is educational - we don't just play games - and the children and adults are always learning new techniques of performance and in communication.
Parents of shy children are always amazed at the confidence of their children even after a term with this fantastic international drama programme.
